Many hear SPDT or PDT and think it is all created equal. After we have seen the results by many people we began to realize some PDT is superior and in fact, gives the results patients are hoping for. This lead me to ask questions and we wanted scientific reasons why the Philippine 4th Generation PDT was superior.
I think too often people looking for treatments are unaware of the inequality of certain treatments or they cannot comprehend the mechanisms or science behind treatments. When I hear things like, ‘ I think PDT is light bouncing around, dancing back and forth – sounds it’s bogus’; my impression of this person is they have the energy to voice an opinion about something they know nothing about. God help us if they had the internet when Einstein was alive, he was explaining the theory of relativity, would we have heard – Bogus, also?
Our answers to how and why is PDT not created equal and what does it mean for cancer patients?
In the Philippines for the Philippine Protocol they use 3 different light sources, all custom made to be an exact match to their sensitizer. Instead of a $100 array of fluorescent bulbs they use high power lasers and even higher power arrays which cost between $10,000 and $35,000 each. These allow them to get all the way into the center of the body.
The lowest power device [laser], they say is strong enough to allow the light to penetrate through the palm of the hand.
This light going through a bone.
It is this kind of penetration which allows them to get deep into the body. They can reach the center of the brain or lungs, with no problem.
After evaluating a light bed used by PDT clinics in Australia and the UK, using a professional laser radiometer and an optical spectrophotometer, then compared it to the absorption spectrum of the chemical they [the clinics] THOUGHT they were using. You can see, per a professional analysis, it would take 700 hours per day under the light to penetrate one centimeter into the body.
The light used in a Mexican clinic is about 30% as powerful as the one used in Australia and the Philippine researcher’s investigation proved the Australian SPDT light was totally worthless. “I estimate about 2000 hours for 1 cm penetration.” says the researcher.
Below are examples of the light bed and the spectrum bulbs used in Mexico.
The sensitizer must be used correctly for the wavelength of light used. Others using SPDT or PDT are barely using 2nd generation, ” They think what they are using is Chlorin E6 which is a very poor second generation sensitizer, but they are wrong,” says the Philippine researcher. Per, the Philippine center they have analyzed samples from 3 different SPDT providers over a period of 8 years. They say,” It never changes, it is never what they say it is, and it is even more worthless than Chlorin E6.”
The researcher says, “My sensitizer has many advantages, 2 times higher quantum yield, exactly the right wavelength and does not leave the body until the cancer is dead, so you don’t need recurring dosage at a high cost. More importantly, it is a nano particle which results in 85 times more absorption in cancer than in normal cells.”
In concluding, I will say that unless you understand science or willing to listen; you cannot give an opinion. The internet is full of self-proclaiming experts quite willing to voice an opinion without the capacity to comprehend the intellectual data comprised in scientific data behind any treatment they read or hear of. Opinions can be voiced freely; it is up to the reader to ask what criteria was the opinion generated; be it science or ignorance? Give me the scientific analysis of any given treatment; the analytical mind must be satisfied.
